Seattle Eminent Domain Lawyer: Beth E. Terrell

Seattle eminent domain lawyer, Beth E. Terrell, graduated from Gonzaga University magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in 1990 and obtained a Juris Doctorate from California School of Law in 1995. She was admitted to the State Bar of California in 1995. She is also admitted to practice in the State of Washington and before the U.S. District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Washington. Ms Terrell is also a member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association, and the King County Bar Association.

OSHA Statistics for Construction Site Injuries and Deaths

Responsible for ensuring the safety of workers, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is a U.S. government agency under the department of Labor. Work-related deaths have decreased by half, and injuries have decreased by 40 percent since the OSHA was created in 1971.

Consider the following statistics:

  • According to OSHA, there were 1,192 construction site fatalities 2005
  • OSHA also reported 6.2 cases of construction site injuries per 100 full-time workers in 2005
  • OSHA has determined that one in ten construction workers are injured each year
  • Fall hazards are the leading cause of injury on construction sites according to OSHA
  • Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) document approximately 150,000 construction site accident injuries each year
  • BLS also reported that contact with equipment made up a significant number of injuries on construction sites
  • According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, 1,224 construction workers died on the job in 2005

Construction is an inherently dangerous profession.
