Bill Corbin is the founding member of what has become Corbin, Schaffer & Aviles, Chartered. He was born in Frederick, Maryland in 1940 and graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1963.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Corbin was a Captain in the United States Air Force Security Service. He was a Signal Intelligence Officer stationed in Texas, Germany and Greece.

Mr. Corbin returned to the University of Maryland for law school and received his Juris Doctorate in 1971. After law school he worked for the law firm of Anderson, Coe and King in Baltimore.

Mr. Corbin opened the doors of what is now Corbin, Schaffer & Aviles, Chartered in 1973 in Severna Park where he has practiced since. He was a member of the Maryland House of Delegates staff from 1975 through 1976.

For ten years in the 1980′s and 1990′s Mr. Corbin was an officer in the Maryland State Guard attaining the rank of Colonel. He commanded a Brigade and was Deputy Commander of the entire State Guard. During that time he received many awards for service to the State of Maryland.

Mr. Corbin is admitted to practice by the Maryland Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the District of Maryland and the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association and the Anne Arundel County Bar Association. He is a former Section council member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Family Law Section. This is the leadership group of the State Bar Family Law Section. Both in conjunction with the Section and otherwise, Mr. Corbin has taught other attorneys and Judges in various programs of continuing Legal Education. He is an active member of the Anne Arundel County Bar Association Family Law Committee.
